The Relevance of Mobile Apps to your Business

Do you remember when Constant Contact first came out? The ability to reach your people was revolutionary.  A few years later, Facebook came along and businesses thought that the ‘online party’ would be a great way to reach existing and potential clients. Depending on the focus of your business, social networking sites can be a very effective marketing tool- or not. Many workplaces have blocked Facebook and other sites to improve productivity. My local SANDWICH SHOP has an app so I can pre-order my food before I walk in the door. Granted it’s not a very complicated app, it can’t send push notifications or collect my API, but nonetheless when I am looking at my list of installed apps, sometimes I get hungry – for a sandwich. Any business can make themselves more available and more functional with an application for either mobile or web. Large businesses are developing their own cloud based applications tailored specifically to their business needs. A application in the cloud is completely scale able and makes sense for companies that have been conforming to the available tools while loosing functionality in the process. With the virtualization of the workplace, an online network is not enough. Time for a sandwich.
